Definition: offensive, distasteful, and causing strong feelings of aversion or repulsion

Synonyms: offensive, revolting, disgusting, abhorrent, adverse, abominable, antagonistic, averse, horrid

Antonyms: nice, lovely, tasteful

Tips: If something is disgusting and makes you turn away from it, it is repugnant. Something can be morally repugnant or physically repugnant, as with a bad odor. Physical sensations or unpleasing sights can cause repugnance (aversion) as well.

Usage Examples:

The criminal's repugnant actions were punished with life in prison. (abhorrent, horrid)
