Tips: Indignant is derived from the Latin indignant-, the present participle stem of indignari, “to regard as unworthy.” If you feel an accusation against you was unwarranted or unworthy of you, you will be indignant (angry) with whoever made the accusation. When people are indignant, they are truly offended by something. The anger and disbelief felt by the person is expressed through the noun indignation.
