Definition: overly flattering or ingratiating and insincere
Synonyms: insincere, offensive, cloying, excessive, fawning, gushing
Antonyms: sincere, heartfelt, genuine
Tips: Fulsome describes disgustingly exaggerated praise, to the point of being offensive. "Fulsome praise" is excessive and insincere, and should NOT be confused with "full of praise," which could actually be earnest.
Usage Examples:
His fulsome compliments became annoying and embarrassing after awhile. (cloying, fawning)
