Definition: honest, direct, and not evasive in expressing one's thoughts or feelings

Tips: Being forthright is something you want out of a leader or an employee. Forthright is a more sophisticated way of saying "direct and honest." Forthright is synonymous with candid and frank. If you are forthright, you are honest and direct in a noble manner. If you are candid, you are being honest and open and sharing information that you might otherwise be reluctant to tell. If you are being frank, you are being honest and direct, and you're not worried about offending someone.

My parents said that if I'm honest and forthright with them, they would help me no matter what situation I was in. (honest, not evasive)
